Ile d’Ambre and Ilot Bernache
Two ‘unspoilt and rejuvenating’ islands
Away from the hustle and bustle are these wild islands surrounded by mangroves. Ile d’Ambre is one of the largest islets of Mauritius and also serves as a nature reserve with endemic plants and birds, and also houses a few ruins dating from the 19th century. Ilot Bernache is a smaller islet just next to Ile d’Ambre and features a beautiful beach. These islets are less popular therefore making them non touristic and perfect for those looking for a serene and peaceful escape.
Option 1: Catamaran trip
Meeting poin: Grand Gaube (North)
Timings: 09:00 – 15:00

Option 2: Motor boat trip

Timings: 08:30 – 15:00
Description: For those seeking an even more ‘local’ experience, this is the ideal trip. Experience a motor boat ride to and from Ile d’Ambre. You will be free to explore the island and the lagoon as you like. A local picnic style lunch and drinks will be served under the shades of the trees on Ile d’Ambre.
